Since the time of Queen Victoria, FOX UMBRELLAS has been producing high-quality, handmade umbrellas by skilled craftsmen, making it one of the world's most famous umbrella brands and synonymous with British umbrellas. Founded in 1868 by Thomas Fox in London's financial district, the City, it celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Throughout the changing times, it has consistently remained a top brand, leaving its mark on history. The world's first steel frame using square-section pipes, conceived at the end of 1800, and the subsequent development of the improved U-shaped steel frame, enabled mass production and are now used in many modern umbrellas. Furthermore, in 1947, shortly after the war, FOX UMBRELLAS pioneered the use of nylon, a cutting-edge material at the time, as a synthetic fiber umbrella made from leftover parachute material. The brand's umbrellas, rolled up to be as slender as a walking stick and considered by British gentlemen to be the most elegant in the world, maintain virtually the same manufacturing methods and traditions since its founding. Even today, each umbrella is carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans in Croydon, a suburb of London.
