Authentic wear is clothing that can be loved across generations.

Now, let me tell you a little more about my relationship with Isetan...
I was born and raised in Akita. My grandfather and father both spent their student days in Tokyo, belonging to the generation that shopped at the "Men's New Building" of Isetan. Furthermore, my paternal ancestors ran a silk reeling factory during the Meiji era, and my mother apparently enjoyed shopping at the women's clothing specialty store in Isetan when she was a student. Incidentally, my mother's family owned a shoe store...
Looking at the family tree, there were connections to fashion.
Furthermore, since my parents' business was related to the upstream (producers) and downstream (consumers) of my current work, I naturally became interested in fashion, and I somehow feel that my current job is somehow fated (laughs).

Recently, when I talk to the stylists in the store, they say that since the store's reopening, there has been a definite increase in customers who resonate with the "timeless, ageless" concept words that buyer Shibata has put forward, and who frequently visit the store. The items we offer on the 7th floor are a concentrated collection of the fundamentals of fashion, exemplified by Brooks Brothers and Levi's , as well as modern vintage-inspired designer brands like Engineered Garments and Kenneth Field .
A characteristic of many of these items is that they reveal their true value as they are worn in, develop character, and become more familiar with use, rather than when they are brand new.
Nowadays, it's commonplace for everyone to easily buy, sell, and share things, which I think is convenient.
However, judging from our customers' reactions these days, I think that the value of having an emotional attachment to objects, like the jackets and coats that were passed down from my grandfather to my father and then to me, and owning them as personal companions, is also being re-evaluated.

I apologize for the long introduction, but as I reflect on these things, I believe that authentic clothing is something that can be loved and enjoyed across generations.
I hope to share the value and enjoyment of "timeless and ageless" things through this blog, so I would appreciate your continued support.
