Hender Scheme

Founded in 2010, Hender Scheme is based in an atelier in Asakusa and offers a wide range of leather goods, including shoes, bags, wallets, card cases, and lifestyle items, all made from premium leathers such as vegetable-tanned leather. Their "Homage Line," launched in their second season and paying homage to popular sneakers, consistently generates buzz and showcases a unique presence. Hender Scheme places importance not only on the superficial aspects but also on the background and process of how things are made, creating products that strike a balance between fashion and craft. They design not only the product itself, but also the process and evolution of its creation, as things pass from person to person, becoming products, and then being used by people to become personalized items. While "sex" refers to physical and biological differences between sexes, "gender" refers to social and cultural differences. Hender Scheme respects sex-based differences but advocates a concept that transcends gender schemas structured by human experience and environment, without relying on gender in terms of appearance.
