It begins with a "navy blazer," and ends with a "navy blazer."
I always end up going back to Brooks Brothers
Hello everyone. This is Shibata, the buyer in charge of authentic wear . And so, my first blog post is finally here!
Because of my job, I've experienced a wide variety of clothes and styles, but somehow, no matter what, a navy blazer with gold buttons has always been in my closet.
While it's an item that symbolizes the Shibuya casual and smart casual era, I'm reminded once again that it's a prime example of an item that can be "dressed down properly" precisely because of its solid product concept.
Brooks Brothers , in particular, holds a special place in my heart. After all, they're a legendary band celebrating their 200th anniversary this year... they're truly great seniors (laughs).

Brooks Brothers blazers: Left: Madison, Right: Milano
I used to prefer jackets with a clean, streamlined shoulder shape and a body-hugging silhouette, like the "Milano" fit, but lately I've been exclusively wearing the "Madison" fit.
When I wore the Madison again after turning 40, I got a different impression than before. It gave me a sense of relaxation, or rather, it's like a magical item that creates space for creativity in my outfits...
I've become completely addicted to it. All in all, a navy blazer is an authentic piece of clothing that's a must-have in any era.

The golden combination of "military pants x navy blazer"
The "Madison" fit is a classic American traditional boxy style, and for me, it's positioned as the "centerpiece of the navy blazer style." Rather than calling it a jacket, I like to wear it like a "sports coat," like an outer layer.
Lately, I've been into the combination of a brightly colored rugby shirt and M47 military pants. Wearing a button-down shirt underneath the rugby shirt, or layering a denim jacket under a blazer, also works well. You could also add a vintage baseball cap for a slightly unconventional American casual look.
Talking about underwear further here would make this too long, so I'll save it for the next blog post.
