In the " #IsetanMensFavorites " series, Isetan Mens staff members with keen aesthetic sensibilities introduce their personal belongings and desired items. In August, the theme is "My Top 4 Items for Weekends and Hobbies," with selections ranging from fashion items and cosmetics to interior goods, all chosen from their unique perspectives. This month, two staff members share their thoughts and stories about each item.

Miyashita: "My Top 4 Items for Weekends and Hobbies"

Large-capacity stainless steel bottle that keeps food fresh

"I bought my Hydro Flask stainless steel bottle, which I use for driving, water sports, and going to the gym, when I was on a training assignment in Taiwan. It has excellent insulation, keeping drinks cold and hot for a long time. I also like that it's large capacity but has a sturdy handle, making it easy to carry. I change the contents depending on the occasion, whether it's herbal tea, coffee, or sports drink. I usually own mostly monochrome items, including clothes and accessories, but perhaps tempted by the warm weather in Taiwan, I unusually chose a pop of orange. It brightens my mood, so I'm glad I chose a different color than usual."

Sunscreen with a scent that makes you want to take a deep breath

"I have a lot of outdoor hobbies, so sunscreen is a must-have item for me all year round, but I didn't like the sticky feeling it left on my skin. However, UV damage and dryness can cause various skin problems... For both men and women, proper UV care is important to maintain a great first impression with beautiful skin. I like Baum's sunscreen because it can be used on both face and body, and it moisturizes while having a smooth feel. A characteristic of Baum is its calming scent, like taking a walk in the forest. "I'm more of an experience-oriented consumer, so it's been a while since I made such a big purchase – PRADA bag. "I spend most of my days off wearing a cap. I love being active, and I sweat a lot when I'm running, so I sometimes wear a different hat on my way to and from the run. I've always wanted a cap that dries quickly, is washable at home, and can be used in all kinds of situations. This is my sportswear cap, the original brand of Runboys! "I love using HOKA ONE ONE shoes for running. I especially love the CARBON X series, which was released in Japan three years ago. It feels like I'm running on marshmallows, and I've ended up with five pairs in different colors (laughs). Playing with colors to match my mood each day is one of the joys of running. The large contact area and the high propulsion that smoothly guides you from landing to toe-off are key features. For me, who runs everything from half marathons to ultramarathons, they are indispensable. Even when the soles wear down and the functionality is halved, they still match my everyday fashion, so I use them as casual shoes around town. When I think back to the races, I just can't bring myself to throw them away..."

A tote bag that lets you enjoy customizing it to your liking.

"I've been a fan of L.L.Bean bags since my student days, using various series. On weekends, I often use the Grocery Tote in natural color because it can carry a lot of things. However, it's quite wide and deep, so I wished it was a little more compact. So, I decided to intentionally shrink it by washing it. After washing it twice and drying it once in the dryer, it shrunk by about 20%, becoming the perfect size for me! Shrinking them has become my new hobby, and I've tried it with various colors, but for some reason, only the undyed natural color changes size. Am I the only one who experiences this? (laughs). It's a traditional item that you can easily try out, as it costs less than 3,000 yen."

"Two years ago, when we started spending more time at home, I wanted to fill my house with a lovely scent, so I bought a Santa Maria Novella potpourri pot. The terracotta color and texture blend in perfectly with the woody feel of my living room. The 'potpourri' is a mix of small fruits, leaves, and petals that bloom on the hills of Florence, and it makes me feel like I'm experiencing the essence of the brand's history cultivated in Florence. The shop stylist told me that if the scent weakens, you can crush it into smaller pieces to increase the surface area exposed to the air, which will allow you to enjoy the fragrance a little longer.
