Edward Green's achievements in changing the conventional wisdom of British shoes

One of the defining characteristics of Edward Green shoes is the use of stitching, exemplified by the skin stitching on the "Dover" model and the swan neck on the "Chelsea" model. There are no other shoe brands where stitching has become such an iconic design element. The finely stitched, perfectly executed stitching is what creates the distinctive Edward Green aesthetic.

There are two things that changed the conventional wisdom of British shoes, and one is that he "changed the stitching to be mainly curved," and the other is that he "introduced the antique finish to the world."
Tabata: Indeed, the achievements of the founder, Edward Green, and the previous president, John Hrustick, have been passed down through generations and become a lasting tradition.
Before Edward Green's designs came into existence, the prevailing view was that "British shoes should be jet black with a matte finish," but after John started using antique finishes, everyone began imitating dark oak and chestnut. In that sense, he's a pioneer of antique finishes in Britain.

Fukuda: Also, a major appeal of Edward Green is the diversity of its lasts (shoe molds). There are fans of various lasts, such as the Chelsea last "202," which is suitable for a "first pair of greens," the Dover last "32," and the more adventurous last "88."
I visited the Edward Green factory in Tabata Northampton, and I saw that the Dover skin stitching is still handled by a father and son team of craftsmen in a dedicated room, starting from twisting the thread using boar whiskers. I was deeply impressed when I saw them at work.

Saito : That's why your shoes are considered the standard for British shoes—because you cherish tradition so much.
Current President Fukuda , Hillary, is a big fan of Isetan and is a familiar face at their trunk shows. Please enjoy the Edward Green lasts that are perfectly fitted to your feet and the meticulous stitching.
