A special edition of the "Autumn/Winter Men's Department Store" tour with Eisuke Yamashita: Styling of noteworthy French traditional and winter outfits!
Eisuke Yamashita, fashion director of the magazine "Men's Precious," laughed as he strolled through the 7th, 5th, 1st, and basement floors of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building saying, "There were so many things I wanted. The 7th floor in particular was a discovery, with lots of intense items. Intense flavors always look delicious, don't they?"
I had two outfits created in the Yamashita style by combining items that caught my eye.

Having the power to create a "story" will make Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building even more interesting.
The biggest appeal of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building is that it doesn't just have items that become part of a styling; it tells the story behind each item.
Furthermore, having observed various trends such as French Ivy, Classic Italian, American casual, Ivy League, and traditional styles, I think it would be even more interesting if we could add a narrative that encompasses both "products" and "styling." I believe that's the unique strength of department stores.

Styling #1 | An easy-to-try French traditional style

■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 5th Floor = Men's Tailored Clothing
CHARVET button-down shirt ¥55,000 Runplay & Corner Scarf ¥11,000 View Products
James Rock Hunting Cap ¥20,900 View Product
■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1st Floor = Seasonal Goods & Hats
cantate white denim pants ¥37,400 ■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 7th floor = Men's Authentic
I mentioned that I felt like wearing white denim again after a long time, and I thought, "I want to wear it like The Style Council," so I coordinated it in a French traditional style. French chic is easy to imitate, and it gives off a clean and refreshing vibe.

White pants are highly versatile, and black shoes are the perfect match. While brown suede is the usual choice, black shoes add a fresh touch to the look. These are black single monk strap shoes, creating a "blue, white, and black" world from top to bottom.
Styling #2 | This is what I do when going on location shoots in winter

Engineered Garments Coat ¥74,800, CP Company Pants ¥31,900 ■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 7th Floor = Men's Authentic
John Smedley Torneck Sweater ¥34,100
Borsalino hat ¥70,400 ■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1F = Seasonal Goods & Hats
This outfit features an Engineered Garments coat I found on the 7th floor, paired with a black turtleneck, burgundy sweatpants, and contrasting shoes.
This is the kind of outfit I wear when I'm on location in the winter.

A turtleneck made of medium to loose gauge cashmere would be perfect, and the combination of black and burgundy is a style I personally tried out. A brown Borsalino hat would also look great with it.

My main work involves editing catalogs and writing articles for "MEN'S Precious (Shogakukan) / http://mensprecious.jp ," a magazine I've been involved with since its inception as a fashion director. I live in a 50-year-old apartment building, and my usual haunts are Jimbocho, Asakusa, and Yanaka-Sendagi. I love old things, and in fashion, I'm drawn to bespoke tailoring, traditional styles, high fashion, American casual... I have a bad habit of jumping at anything that has a classic cultural background.
To further enhance my hobby of exploring cities, I recently acquired a Leica M camera and have become engrossed in photography during my travels. My dream is to share the little-known masterpieces and fashion cultures that still remain in the world.
