"What I value most is 'negative space.' I deliberately excluded obvious features like hand-stitching and stitching. However, I've incorporated subtle details throughout the garment so that you can discover hidden charms at unexpected moments. The attachment to the garment deepens because the wearer themselves notices these details. I created this piece with that value in mind," says Yamagami.

"In a word, my ideal is 'beautiful Neapolitan tailoring.' I'm creating a shirt that combines a soft, enveloping feel with refined tailoring. "Our ideal suit is one that offers a soft, comfortable fit while creating a three-dimensional beauty, rather than the stiff tailoring often associated with military uniforms. A key feature is the ample space around the chest, emphasizing a beautiful drape. We base our designs on timelessness that will remain relevant even 10 or 20 years from now," says Mr. Nemoto.


Unlike the stiff shoulders you might imagine when thinking of a British-style suit, the gentle shoulder line and soft chest area are characteristic of jackets designed by Mr. Nemoto. Based on the soft tailoring of the golden age of Savile Row, it achieves a balance between elegance and relaxation.

"The use of no shoulder pads and thin, soft interlining is typical of Neapolitan style. On the other hand, the lapels and shoulder area are kept understated, resulting in a restrained look. Another feature is that the trousers are designed to fit the Japanese physique by correcting bowlegs. This is a garment that quietly enhances the wearer's dignity and individuality," says Mr. Yamaguchi.
