PRADA Fall/Winter 2026 Men's Collection "BEFORE AND NEXT" – Clothing for Moving Forward Without Erasing the Past [FASHION HEADLINE]

Prada's Fall/Winter 2026 men's collection, "BEFORE AND NEXT," was presented not as a confrontation between the past and the future, but as an attempt to re-examine the continuity between them. What Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons demonstrated was an attitude of not rejecting the past, but accepting the meaning and experience accumulated within it, and then considering the next step.

A clear sense of structure permeates the entire collection. Silhouettes that emphasize vertical lines and tailoring that follows the contours of the body bring visual order and make the wearer conscious of their posture and demeanor. In these uncertain times, the sense of security that structured clothing provides plays a crucial role here.

On the other hand, while the surface is restrained, complexity is embedded within. Inside the seemingly simple jackets and coats, details and prints referencing different eras and cultures are layered, making layers of time visible through the clothing. It can be said that this is not merely decoration, but a structure that contains intelligence and memory.

The motifs seen in the prints unfold as a collage where images from antiquity, the Renaissance, and the present day intersect, evoking the cultural experiences accumulated by humankind. What's important here is not nostalgia for the past, but how those elements are rearranged within contemporary clothing.

The Prada Foundation's depot, which served as the venue for the show, also functioned as a device to reinforce this idea. By placing relics and fragments of the past around, time is experienced not as flowing in one direction, but as something that moves back and forth. What has been hidden is revealed, and connections emerge—the spatial composition resonates with the philosophy of the collection.

"BEFORE AND NEXT" is not a collection for preserving the past, nor does it definitively predict the future. Rather, it is a collection that presents, through the structure of clothing, a process of referencing the past, observing the present, and considering what lies ahead. This season, PRADA is demonstrating the thought process for moving forward not through poetry, but through structure.
