2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the reunification of East and West Germany. Historically, Germany has been home to independent watchmakers and small maisons who have a strong commitment to the intricate details of their movements.
This time, on the 5th floor of the main building, at Watches/Shellman, we will be focusing on and introducing unique German watches with meticulous attention to movement, which continue to fascinate watch enthusiasts.

- III. Lang & Heyne: Upholding the Traditional Craftsmanship of Saxon Court Clocks
- IV. Moritz Grossmann aims for a simple yet perfect style.

I. Kudoke, a unique mechanical watch brand

Kudoke
In 2019, Kudoke's "KUDOKE2" won the Grand Prix in the "Petite Aiguille" (Small Hand) category at the GPHG 2019 (Grand Prix de Geneva Watchmaking), attracting attention from around the world. The beautiful finishes, such as the hand-applied matte finish to the movement used since 2017 and the engraved day/night disc, are a must-see, as they are all crafted by him alone.
II. Small-batch production. D. Dornblüth & Sohn stubbornly adhere to handcrafted methods.

D. Dornblute & Sohn
D. Dornblüth & Sohn began with the creation of a watch as a gift for his father, a watchmaker. Dirk Dornblüth, the son, does all of his work by hand, without using any modern CNC or other processing machines, so the annual production is limited to about 100 pieces.
Since 2010, they have been using their own movements and source almost all of their parts in-house, which is another attractive feature as it allows for detailed customization.
III. Lang & Heyne: Upholding the Traditional Craftsmanship of Saxon Court Clocks

Lange & Heine
Founded in 2001 in Dresden, the birthplace of watchmaking in Saxony, Lang & Heyne is named after two watchmakers. Since 2019, Jens Schneider has taken over as the new head of development and manufacturing. The company produces only about 50 pieces per year, and its watches are characterized by delicate and ornate movement finishes, such as diamonds on the balance cock, reminiscent of the works of court watchmakers who created watches for royalty.
IV. Moritz Grossmann aims for a simple yet perfect style.

Moritz Grossmann
Moritz Grossmann , a brand revived in 2008 by Christine Hutter, carries on the legacy of an important watchmaker from the late 19th century. Current production is based on Grossmann's legacy, featuring robust movements reminiscent of vintage pocket watches and beautiful finishes crafted according to traditional Glashütte specifications.
V. Wempe, a leading force in the German watch industry

Wempe
Founded in Germany in 1878, Wempe is a long-established luxury watch and jewelry store. Beyond being a retailer, it has been manufacturing marine chronometers since 1905 and producing original watches, making it a leading brand in the German watch industry. All of their models meet German chronometer standards, certified at Wempe's observatory in Glashütte, Germany, demonstrating their commitment to both timeless design and practical craftsmanship.
VI. Nomos Glashütte, a leading German industrial products brand.

Nomos Glashütte
Founded in 1990 in Glashütte, Germany, Nomos Glashütte presents the "Tangente Winter," a limited edition model inspired by the four seasons of Japan, based on the "Tangente" line which has been a staple since the brand's inception. Beyond its simple design, the beauty of the movement visible from the back is also a must-see.
