When most people hear the word "fleece," they probably imagine the synthetic material made from recycled plastic bottles. However, the original meaning of fleece refers to a single piece of wool shorn from a sheep. That's why the sheep hanging up for shearing, which is the icon of a certain American traditional brand, is called the "Golden Fleece."

PRISTINE gents ' fleece line returns to the original meaning of the word "fleece," focusing on natural materials. They release lightweight, warm, and soft fleece jackets and vests using wool on the outside and organic cotton for the lining.

The wool is of such high quality that it achieves a beautiful white color even without dyeing, thanks to the meticulous management of the sheep's upbringing. They also insist on using domestically sourced materials for everything except the raw wool, relying on partner factories within Japan. Why is that?

You are probably aware that the marine plastic pollution problem is a global concern. Some calculations suggest that by 2050, the amount of plastic in the ocean will exceed the total weight of fish. In particular, fragments of polyester fleece fibers contained in wastewater from washing synthetic fabrics are a cause for concern not only for their environmental impact but also because they can be bioaccumulated through food production and return to humans.


When confronted with this problem, PRISTINE gents ' answer was natural real fleece. Isetan has previously supported this brand, which uses organic cotton in its women's, baby, and living lines, in agreement with its corporate stance of being environmentally friendly, kind to people, and aiming for sustainable social contribution. Now it's the men's turn. PRISTINE gents will be launched for the first time outside of its directly managed stores.
