The ultimate business shoes, offering unparalleled cost performance, have arrived—ISETAN MEN'S makes its long-awaited return.

ISETAN MEN'S original shoes are making a comeback after several seasons. "We've finished our efforts to discover factory brands, which we've been focusing on recently, so we've created our own originals once again. The theme we've set is 'the best cost performance'," says Tomoyasu Tabata, men's shoe buyer on the first basement floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building .

A long-established shoe factory x a rising star last

ISETAN MEN'S shoes: 21,600 yen

One of the shoes is made by Madras, a prestigious manufacturer founded in 1921. By having the sewing done overseas, costs are kept down, and by finishing it using Madras's specialty Goodyear welt construction, they have achieved a price of 20,000 yen (excluding tax). What is noteworthy is the last. It was created by Yugo Hayano , a rising bespoke shoemaker. The inwardly curved last, the silhouette that suppresses the instep, and the small counter guarantee a fit that is comparable to bespoke shoes. A Vibram rubber sole is used around the bottom.

Another option is a shoe made by Binaseiko, a brand that now exudes the aura of a long-established name. It's crafted using the Goodyear welt method with calfskin from the French company Annonay, showcasing the masterful handiwork of seasoned craftsmen, exemplified by the hidden channel and the sharp, defined edges of the sole. And then there's the shoe last. This one was made by Tetsuya Matsuda, a last maker known to those in the know. He's a highly skilled craftsman who has worked on the lasts for many surprising brands. The organic silhouette, reminiscent of a work of art, is well worth admiring. This one costs 30,000 yen (excluding tax).

The minimalist lineup, consisting of only black shoes in cap toe, punched cap toe, and plain toe styles, is also appealing.
