HENTSCHEL

Hentschel is a watch shop with an attached watchmaking workshop, founded in Hamburg, Germany, by watchmaker Andreas Hentschel.
Since its founding in 1993, the shop has directly accepted requests from customers reflecting their individual tastes and personalities, and has manufactured custom-made watches based on extremely rare, unused old movements.

Today, the brand has unveiled the "HUW1130 premium," a newly designed mechanical hand-wound movement based on the legendary Swiss-made movement "AS1130." The collection using this movement, named "H1 Chronometer," is appealing not only for its beautiful finish but also for its high level of perfection, boasting chronometer-level accuracy.

Hamburg, being located very close to the North Sea, has a deep connection to the manufacture of marine chronometers, and Hentschel's watchmaking philosophy is inspired by this vast history of marine chronometer production.

Stainless steel case: 37mm diameter, approximately 37-hour power reserve, 5 ATM water resistance, manual winding.

This model features a silver dial from the "H1 Chronometer" series, paired with blued steel leaf-shaped hour and minute hands and a small seconds hand.
Having passed the German Naval Observatory's testing standards and a 1,000-hour accuracy test, this watch, like its "HUW1130 premium" movement, avoids ostentatious decoration, resulting in a classic finish reminiscent of vintage pocket watches and early wristwatches.

Next up: D. Dornblüth & Sohn, a brand that stubbornly adheres to small-batch production and handcrafted methods.
