Atelier de Chronométrie was founded in Barcelona, Spain, by three individuals: Sante Martínez and Montes Guimeno, both collectors and experts in vintage watches, and Mobius Lasman, an experienced watchmaker.
Following the philosophy of "returning to the golden age of watchmaking when craftsmen showcased their skills," these watches are made without the use of modern machine tools such as CNC lathes, but rather using traditional craftsman tools like those used in the 1930s and 40s.

One of its distinguishing features is the movement, which, befitting the name "chronometer," is based on a movement from a bygone era that was used in observatory competitions. Rather than simply using the original mechanism, the process begins with hand-cutting 23 parts from scratch, including the balance wheel, main plate, and gears. Even when reusing existing parts, every single part is polished and refinished.
From the creation and refinishing of the parts to the appearance and function of the movement, it's no exaggeration to say that it's been made with such effort that it's practically a completely new creation.

They adhere to a policy of producing all their works on a made-to-order basis, refusing to accept reorders for the same design. Ordering a watch from them is a special project where you can choose everything from the case size, bezel, and lug shape to the hands, dial design, and even the movement's finish. Their production style sets them apart from other brands.

These are special pieces created by people involved in vintage watches, transcending time and trends.

Additionally, on Saturday, June 29th, Sante Martinez, one of the co-founders and creative director, will be making his first visit to Japan. An expert in vintage watches, he will be holding a talk show where he will discuss the thoughts behind his exceptionally tasteful creations, as well as individual order sessions.
