This season, ISETAN MEN'S has named this Scottish-influenced British style "Scottish Italian" and is developing it as a seasonal trend. While incorporating typical British trends, the base is Italian classic, making it easy for those who have previously preferred Italian-influenced styles to adopt. Moreover, the use of materials that are wrinkle-resistant and drape beautifully, while possessing British-style colors and patterns researched and developed by Italian fabric manufacturers, will surely provide a fresh fitting experience for classic fans familiar with tailoring.

I commissioned a three-piece suit in homemade tweed from TAGLIATORE . I've also asked De Petrillo to make a gun club check jacket. Stile Latino has a gun club check coat to match my herringbone tweed suit, and Paidea's shepherd's check has a greenish hue that gives it a distinctly Scottish feel.

Left: Sartoria Ciardi's jacket also uses a check pattern not typically seen in Italian fabrics. Jacket ¥388,800 Right: Cesare Attolini uses fabric from Merlin & Evans, a long-established British tweed mill founded in 1782. Jacket ¥486,000 ■ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 4th Floor = International Luxury

"You might get the impression that this is the opposite of the Italian classic style that ISETAN MEN'S has been developing until now, but that's not the case. We're not aiming for a British style that looks like it jumped out of a movie or novel, but rather we want you to enjoy a British touch that suits the modern style. To achieve this, I think it's necessary to have the perspective and idea of British clothing made in Italy. Using British-style woolen fabrics from Italian fabric manufacturers instead of vintage British materials, or using traditional check patterns, are some of the techniques that make it look like retro British clothing. While we keep talking about British every season, we've avoided giving a clear answer to the fashion trend for fear of it looking like cosplay, but ISETAN MEN'S is now presenting British that you can actually wear. We hope you enjoy wearing it," (Yamaura).
