"The beauty of blue"
In the theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, spring is associated with the color "blue." Blue is the sea. Blue is the sky. Blue is the trees. And blue is the earth. The colors may appear in different ways, but we realize that this color occupies the majority of the natural world that surrounds us. And we Japanese have long been fascinated by and felt a sense of familiarity with this solemn, pure, profound, and clear color.
"ISETAN JAPAN SENSES" aims to showcase the best aspects of Japan, which we are proud of, as new values to both domestic and international audiences. This time, we will focus on the further appeal of the color "blue," and introduce various things and cultures to you in synchronization with the "Setouchi Triennale 2016," which will be held at the same time.


Japanese craftsmanship by skilled artisans

Kojima in Okayama Prefecture is world-renowned as a center for denim fabric production. They are passionate about recreating vintage denim using the latest know-how, while simultaneously continuing to challenge themselves in new frontiers in denim. The second installment of Yohji Yamamoto archive collection and the latest collaboration items are also on sale.
We have opened a pop-up store that expresses the ever-evolving Yohji Yamamoto through keywords such as fashion, art, and music. We will be introducing Mitsukoshi Isetan exclusive and pre-release items that were created based on these keywords.

The "Good Design Shop" will appear at the Shinjuku Main Building 1 = The Stage.
The "Good Design Shop," operated by COMME des GARCONS and D&DEPARTMENT, will open on the 1st floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building at The Stage. Based on the idea that "strong creation is timeless, and items that have been supported as classics for a long time are also strong creations," the limited-time store will bring together items that are not affected by trends and will introduce limited-edition products created specifically for this project.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the brand's founding, visvim will be holding the "visvim ARCHIVES" event at the event space on the 7th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the brand's founding. The event will feature an exhibition of discoveries made by designer Hiroki Nakamura on his travels around the world, as well as an archive that looks back on the brand's history. In addition to a capsule collection using "Mayo-myo" fabric, which revives ancient hemp cloth, there will also be a cafe space where you can enjoy coffee produced by the brand.

PTAH has launched a new series that redefines the traditional concept of "aging" leather.
