shiroi a domestic leather brand launched by Cordovan Co., Ltd., which has close ties with Shinki Leather, a Himeji tannery that produces high-quality cordovan and horsehide, is making its debut. From Wednesday, October 18th to Tuesday, October 31st, shiroi launch event will be held at the Bags section on the B1 floor of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building .

Based on the ancient Japanese word "sui" (meaning unadorned and in its natural state), shiroi utilizes the inherent life marks, scratches, and blemishes of all leather, developing products created through tanning and manufacturing techniques by Japanese craftsmen. Defining these life marks as the true charm of leather products, Shiroi offers unique items with no two pieces having the same texture, through tanning techniques and natural finishes by skilled craftsmen, without concealing them.

This event will showcase a variety of genderless bags that are perfect for everyday life, utilizing horsehide leather that had been sitting unused at Shinki Leather. In addition to the balance between the expressive character of the leather and the simple, elegant design, the lightweight feel, uniquely supple texture, and flexibility characteristic of horsehide will create a fresh and surprising experience. As a symbol of the luggage line, this bag was created after more than a year of trial and error. The handle length can be freely adjusted, allowing it to be used not only as a shoulder tote bag, but also as a briefcase-style handbag by shortening the handles, offering two ways to use it.

To achieve both a beautiful silhouette and practicality, we repeatedly created paper patterns and samples until we arrived at the "golden ratio sizing." Despite its compact appearance, it boasts impressive storage capacity. It can easily accommodate items ranging from bulky items like 500ml PET bottles and folding umbrellas to taller items like 8.3-inch tablets and long wallets.
