For example, the square frame that greets customers as soon as they enter the entrance. Do you know what it is? You may have noticed the same thing on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th floors as well. This is a space called "SI = Store Identity" that was newly established during the 2019 remodel. Artistic works with a different theme are exhibited here approximately every one to two months.

The exhibits here include works by artists and designers Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building is currently focusing on, as well as installations based on the season's theme. Sometimes you'll find contemporary art, sometimes vintage furniture, and in the past, even bonsai trees. Some items are even available for purchase. When you shop at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , your items will be given to you in a tartan shopping bag. This blue, green, and black tartan is based on a traditional Scottish pattern and is an original Isetan design registered with the Scottish Tartans Register as "Black Watch/Isetan Men's".

Tartan has been used since Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building was established in 1968 as the "New Building for Men," but in 2014, the design was completely revamped in collaboration with Brian Wilton, a board member of the Scottish Tartan Society and a designer who works as a tartan ambassador around the world.

The red grid pattern incorporated into the tartan is called ni-iro, a traditional Japanese color, and represents the sun that illuminates the start of the day, as well as the spirit of hospitality that the "tan" in Isetan signifies.

Its versatile and elegant design has been well-received and has been used in various brand collaboration items in the past. We hope that this tartan will continue to be loved as a symbol of Isetan Men's.

Did you know that the interior design differs on each floor? It's a subtle design choice to stimulate our customers' inspiration and senses, ensuring a comfortable shopping experience.

When Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building was first built, it adopted the theme of "Neo Art Deco Style," incorporating Japanese elements to create a unified environment in the floors, walls, ceilings, and furnishings of each floor. Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building has been remodeled several times over the past 20 years, but the details and basic design remain the same. The fact that it doesn't seem to have faded even after 20 years suggests that it embodies a timeless aesthetic.

For example, the first-floor flooring is constructed with marble-like materials and wooden planks, evoking the image of a wooden-floored corridor or veranda facing a garden paved with white stones. Guests are welcomed with an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Japanese covered walkway. The upper louvers, which create a gradient of light, evoke the beauty of Japanese architecture.

The second floor features a monochrome color scheme with white bamboo accents on the pillars and walls, creating an image of Japan as seen from abroad. From creations born from "culture" such as music, to the installation of a DJ booth, it serves as a receptacle for international sensibilities, stimulating the senses of visitors.

The fourth floor features floors and walls covered in tiles resembling roof tiles, and the ceiling is colored to evoke the "vermilion red" of lacquered bento boxes and bowls. It is a floor where you can feel luxury in a space inspired by Japanese aesthetics.

The 6th floor features a reddish-brown floor reminiscent of pottery, evoking the warmth of traditional Japanese earth, and combined with the ink-black color of earthen walls, creating a space that inspires new discoveries.

There are probably other interior design elements that will catch your eye. Please find your favorite floor!

Here it is! Hospitality that appeals to all five senses.
