Founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, HAMILTON has walked hand in hand with American history. Known for its timepieces that fuse playful American-born designs with Swiss watchmaking technology, the brand offers a wide range of models that seamlessly complement both formal and casual occasions, including the long-selling "Jazzmaster Open Heart" model.
From December 26th (Saturday) to January 12th, 2021 (Tuesday), a Hamilton Fair will be held at the Watch/Promotion section on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku . Focusing on the "Intra-Matic" collection, which saw the introduction of new models in 2020, the fair will showcase a variety of watches perfect for the year-end and New Year holiday season.
The "Intra-Matic" is a collection that embodies Hamilton's heritage of over 120 years and is part of the "American Classic" collection, which enjoys enduring popularity for its vintage-like appearance. The newest additions to this collection are the "Intra-Matic Auto Chrono," a stylish model with a Milanese bracelet, and the "Intra-Matic Auto," a three-hand model that highlights the beauty of its design. Both are timepieces that blend heritage and modernity.
"Intra-Matic Auto Chrono"
The "Intra-Matic Auto Chrono" is a reissue of the "Chronograph A," released in 1968, which was affectionately known as the "Panda Dial" due to its monochrome two-counter chronograph dial. Since its introduction in the 2018 collection, this model has become a popular new staple for Hamilton, and now a Milanese bracelet model has been added to the lineup.
The lightweight Milanese bracelet, which matches the sporty and classic design reminiscent of classic racing cars, offers a comfortable fit while its delicately woven design makes a statement on the wrist.
The 40mm diameter case, which is understated and fits comfortably on the wrist, houses an automatic chronograph movement boasting approximately 60 hours of power reserve. A sub-dial at 9 o'clock displays seconds, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock displays a totalizer, and a date display is located at 6 o'clock.
The tachymeter on the outer edge of the dial harmonizes with the sub-dials, while the push buttons on the right side of the case and the large screw-down crown combine high functionality with a stylish design. All the parts blend together to create a modern style.
"Intramatic Auto"
A classic and simple three-hand model that utilizes the iconic design of the "Intra-Matic Auto Chrono" has also been released.
The "Intra-Matic Auto," like the "Intra-Matic Auto Chrono," features a 40mm case diameter and a date display at the 6 o'clock position. Its appeal lies in its sharp, contrasting two-tone color scheme, available in two variations: an off-white dial model with a striking black chapter ring, and a combination of an off-white chapter ring and a blue dial. Each model is further enhanced by a matte black or light brown soft leather strap, further highlighting its sophisticated design.

The attention to detail is undeniable, a hallmark of this simple yet beautiful three-hand model. The matte dial features an italicized logo, exclusive to Hamilton's heritage models, giving it a vintage feel. Not only the hour and minute hands, but also the tips of the three-dimensional bar indices are treated with Super-LumiNova® for superior legibility. The delicate second hand, extending to the outer edge of the dial, uses the same color as the chapter ring, adding a subtle accent to the minimalist dial.
Furthermore, the Nivachron™ balance spring, made from a non-magnetic alloy material with excellent magnetic resistance and durability, guarantees high precision. This timepiece can be described as a fusion of classic aesthetics and superior watchmaking technology.
