In 2020, Franck Muller's iconic "Long Island" celebrated its 20th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, four new colors of the "Long Island Relief" collection, featuring a dazzling combination of 18K pink gold and stainless steel, have been released. These watches are available on the 5th floor of the main building at the Franck Muller Watches section.

"Long Island" celebrates the beautiful New York of the early 20th century.

After his brand made a sensational debut, Franck Muller traveled the world, hosting exhibitions and parties with clients. One day, a New York watch collector invited him to his villa on Long Island. It was then that Franck Muller noticed how relaxed the New Yorker was, a stark contrast to how he was in Manhattan.

Inspired by that experience, he created a new watch rooted in American Art Deco, combining the fast-paced skyscrapers of Manhattan with the contrasting relaxed beauty of the surrounding streets. That watch is the Long Island, which today stands alongside the Tonneau Curvex as one of Franck Muller's signature models.

His eyes fell upon a large, old bridge connecting New York City to Long Island. Judging from its design, it was likely built in the early 20th century. Crossing that bridge, he left the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and entered the countryside of Long Island, where he found an area with large, magnificent houses.

The scenery that came to mind was the Art Deco style from around 1910 to 1925, which I expressed in a curved rectangular case. The small size and overall impression give it a classical feel.

The newly unveiled 20th-anniversary models come in four variations. There's a white dial with a light-reflecting guilloché pattern that gives it a fresh impression, and a black dial where the brand's iconic Byzantine numerals shine brilliantly against a deep black background. The lineup also includes brown and blue dials, which achieve a rich color through multiple processes. The comfortable fit of the curved case remains unchanged, and the design is truly befitting of a special 20th-anniversary model.

Franck Muller draws inspiration for his watchmaking from his interactions with customers while traveling the world. Wearing one of his watches might allow you to feel the atmosphere of faraway lands and cherish the passage of time.
