Isetan Men's will begin a collaboration with the Japan Association of Contemporary Art Dealers (CADAN) starting Wednesday, February 19, 2020. From Wednesday, February 19 to Tuesday, March 3, art pieces curated by galleries belonging to CADAN will be featured in the promotion area on the 1st floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building .

The Contemporary Art Dealers Association Nippon (CADAN) is a non-profit industry organization established in 2015 with the aim of contributing to the development of contemporary art in Japan by promoting and popularizing contemporary art in Japan, establishing and developing the contemporary art market, increasing the international recognition of contemporary artists, and supporting and nurturing young artists. It currently has 37 member galleries.

Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building has been reborn not only as a fashion store but also as an "art museum."

Since its remodel in March 2019, Isetan Men's has adopted "As a man, and As a human" as its new statement, and has installed a new symbol, "SI (Store Identity)," in four locations within the store (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 6th floors). In its first year, the store is exhibiting works that artistically visualize the new statement.

Furthermore, on the second floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , a gallery space called "ART UP" was created, focusing on the art world which has close ties to the fashion industry. This gallery exhibits and sells artwork by artists curated from the buyer's unique perspective, and has held 15 exhibitions in the past year.

In this way, by actively engaging with art, Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building has become a place that can be enjoyed not only as a fashion store but also as a "museum of art."

CADAN affiliated galleries will be holding a limited-time pop-up event.

To commemorate the first anniversary of its remodel in 2020, Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1st floor = Promotion area, where art works curated by member galleries will be exhibited and sold, filling the store with carefully selected works from 33 of the 37 galleries .
We hope you will look forward to the collaboration between CADAN and Isetan Men's, which goes beyond the realm of fashion and deepens its connection with art.
