"Chocolate + one" - perfect for giving to your boyfriend, father, brother, or someone special.

What kinds of gifts do you give or receive on Valentine's Day or birthdays? For a while, "experience-based consumption," such as traveling or going out to eat delicious food, was the main trend, but recently, "giving material gifts" has been re-evaluated as a way to properly convey your feelings to someone special.

When a woman says she wants to give a gift that will last, it's likely she's thinking, "This is the kind of man I want him to be." Of course, ties are a symbol of masculinity, but in line with the current trend of going tie-less, pocket squares and tie bars, which can be used as accessories, are also chosen from a woman's perspective.

Ai Tsuchida
Dress shirts and ties - Assistant buyer

Assistant buyer Tsuchida recalls the joy of helping customers choose gifts, saying, "The most enjoyable time for me since being assigned to the dress shirts and ties department was my first Valentine's Day. It was fun helping women seriously choose ties and pocket squares for men, and I was even happier when they later told me that the men were pleased with their gifts."

Yuki Yokomatsu
Dress shirt and tie stylist

Stylist Yokomatsu shared an anecdote: "When I was in my first year on the job, I was surprised to find that many women give ties as Valentine's Day gifts. When women choose a tie, they are left with two options: one is 'a tie he will probably like,' and the other is 'a tie that I want to give him.' They are very torn between the two, but I tell them that ties are something men buy for themselves, so it's fine to choose one that the woman would like him to wear, and they believe me and go ahead and buy it."

Masaki Taniguchi, Assistant Buyer, Dress Shirts & Ties. After gaining experience in tailored clothing, he transferred to the dress shirts and ties department last spring.

Veteran Taniguchi reveals the honest feelings of men, saying, "I'm the same way, but when I buy ties for myself, I tend to choose the same colors and patterns every time. A tie chosen by a woman is special, and it's incredibly lucky to receive a tie that's different from the usual. It becomes a truly memorable gift, and I'll cherish it forever."
