The legendary Pantalonaio Napoletano makes its first appearance in Japan.
Even in Italy, many renowned tailors outsource the making of trousers. Because the techniques for making jackets and trousers are completely different, they entrust the work to specialized trouser makers, or "pantalonaios." These pantalonaios remain in the shadows of the star tailors, never taking center stage. However, in recent years, bottoms have even become the main focus of men's fashion. You've probably seen trouser-specialized brands and the names of trouser makers featured both domestically and internationally.

Marco Cerrato Pants ¥172,800
Marco Cerrato is one of Naples' foremost trouser makers. He has his atelier in the back streets of Spaccanapoli, an area that functions partly as a tourist spot but is said to be off-limits to travelers. His works are eye-wateringly expensive, both in terms of their prestige and price, but the finished product is so exquisite that one cannot help but understand why. And that's no surprise, as his mother comes from the Mora family, renowned Neapolitan trouser makers. He is a descendant of the Mora family, the same family of trouser makers whose products are sold under the name Le Spade at ISETAN MEN'S .

These pants, described as having a "comfortable fit that keeps your waist from slipping," are single-pleated and beltless. Moreover, the pleat is a box-shaped type called a kiss pleat, which requires more fabric than a single-fold pleat, resulting in twice the elegant drape. They feature a button-front pancherina style and are also characterized by their unevenness when laid flat due to extensive pressing. They envelop the curved shape of the lower legs of the human body, fitting as if a hand were gently supporting the waist.

Apparently, in the US and UK, orders were already being accepted only for trunk shows under the brand name Cerato Napori. It's amusing that, having only ever worked on bespoke orders, he was unfamiliar with sizing for ready-made garments and had to handwrite the sizes.
