ISETAN MEN'S Presents "Our X'mas Stories" is a Christmas project from ISETAN MEN'S Net that will liven up the Christmas scene in 2018. It will introduce the individual "Christmas stories" of six women who are active in various fields.

Shaula
Radio Personality/DJ
A model from Hawaii who has appeared in Kobe Collection and in magazines such as "GLITTER." Her unpretentious personality has made her popular, and she is a regular on television programs. In addition, she is active as a radio personality and DJ, showcasing her strong musical talent.

"When choosing a gift, I like gifts that show you've chosen them specifically for that person," says Shaula. Having grown up in Hawaii from the third grade of elementary school until she was 20, we strolled through Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , while she shared stories about Christmas in the tropical climate.

Wa1

What does Christmas mean to you?

I spent my first 20 years in Hawaii, and the thing that surprised me most when I came to Japan was that Japanese people eat fried chicken on Christmas. I was truly shocked. In Hawaii, we roast and eat a big ham on Christmas. Also, while Christmas in Japan seems to be a day for couples to spend together, in Hawaii it was a day to enjoy time with family.

Last March, we got married, and our first Christmas together was spent with his whole family, just like when we were dating. His family also cherishes the time we spend together, and we even exchange gifts.

I often come to Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . The products they carry and the customers are all stylish, and the items they select are truly tasteful. I can usually find what I'm looking for, so I often come here with my boyfriend to shop.

I envy men's fashion because it has so many basic items. I personally like the basic style of sneakers, jeans, and a shirt, so I enjoy browsing at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , and I always think, "I wish there were items like this in women's fashion."

Question 2

What are some memorable Christmas episodes and presents you've received?

My fondest Christmas memories from Hawaii, spent with my American father and Japanese mother, include my eco-friendly father bringing the plants from the garden into the house and decorating them with ornaments, saying, "It's a shame to cut down trees for Christmas." I even have a photo where the decorated plants are visible in the background (laughs). Since Christmas was warm in Hawaii, when it snowed in Tokyo, I was thrilled, thinking, "Wow, this feels so Christmassy!"

My mom always made all the food herself, roasting a big ham, making mashed potatoes, and I think there was cake too. As for presents, I would ask for CDs because I loved music, or I would always get something. I also gave my parents presents every year. Now we live far apart, in Tokyo and Hawaii, so it's been a while since I've given my dad a Christmas present.

I love message cards so much that I collect them. When I receive a handwritten letter or a gift with a handwritten card attached, it really touches me because it feels like the person put their heart into it. I'm so happy when that happens that I always make sure to include a message card myself.

Test3

Please tell me about the gift you chose at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building .

My father is a pilot in Hawaii. He commutes to work by motorcycle and carries a backpack, so I want to give him a backpack as a gift, something he can use every day. My father is eco-conscious, believes in reuse and recycling, cherishes his belongings, and doesn't buy unnecessary things, so my mother and I are the ones who buy him new things and stylish clothes. Now that we know what he likes, we can't go wrong with a gift.

I chose a sweater and sneakers for my husband. He's someone who values the feel of materials when it comes to the things he wears, so I wanted to give him something that I would be happy with and say, "This is a good quality item." He usually prefers simple styles like T-shirts and jeans, but he wears luxury brand shoes and chooses high-quality items that will last a long time.

Also, I found these handkerchiefs with messages on them in the underwear section on the first basement floor, and I want to buy the whole series and give them to my colleagues. The colors are cute, and the messages on the back are so funny, it's wonderful. I found some great handkerchiefs.

What message does NEXTShaula want to convey to the two of them?
