[Video] Katsumi Yabe x New Generation Creators from Naples | Vol. 2 Nicola Radano - A 23-year-old rising star from Naples(1/2)

Isetan Men's is focusing on the new Neapolitan style proposed by young creators. In an era where "suits are no longer a necessity" in business attire, it's refreshing to "enjoy suit style voluntarily"—wearing a suit only when truly necessary, wearing a tie because you like it, and preferring shirts to T-shirts or polo shirts. At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , the individuality of young Neapolitan tailors who are passionate about their craft meets the individuality of their customers, and a new era emerges when customers wear clothes tailored specifically for them.

In late March 2018, the necktie brand Spacca Neapolis held its first ever order event at ISETAN MEN'S . Katsumi Yabe, Executive Fashion Editor of the fashion magazine "MEN'S Precious" (published by Shogakukan), interviewed Nicola Radano, the brand's founder at the young age of 23, about the characteristics of their craftsmanship.

The tailor who warmly welcomed me

Spacca Neapolis is a brand that focuses on Neapolitan-style lightweight, three-fold ties (a sewing technique where the wide and narrow ends of the tie are not lined and the edges are finely sewn). The fabrics he designs, based on old archives, are also appealing, and his sensibility of "making old techniques new" is similar to that of Luca, who runs Luca Gracia. At the order event, customers could choose not only the width and length of the tie, but also whether it was a seven-fold or three-fold tie.

Could you please tell me about Nicola Yabe's profile?
Nicola was born in 1995 and is 23 years old. He was born in a town near Naples. He's been in the fashion world for four years, but he started it more out of enjoyment than as a job. His grandfather and father were collectors of Marinella ties, and he himself was drawn to classic items.
So, the Yabe family had an influence on it, huh?

I started this blog five years ago as a student, wanting to enjoy and express the passion that Nicola Fashion embodies. I graduated last year. Many artisans are difficult people, and young people who go to them asking to learn their techniques are often met with disdain, but Sartoria Ciardi was the one that warmly welcomed me.
This tailor shop is quite distinctive, even within Yabe Napoli.
After school , I would go to Ciardi's workshop and talk with him. I had my first pair of bespoke trousers made. Once the trousers were finished, I would choose a fresh tie from my father's collection to coordinate them.
