Shigehisa Kimura

Because I like it, I'll go the classic route.

Kimura originally worked as a hotel employee (restaurant manager). His journey into the world of wine began with an encounter with a wine producer. "When I visited a winery in France, the winemaker's stories were incredibly passionate. I was also deeply moved by the atmosphere of the vineyards and winery. That's when the desire to make wine myself was born."

While searching for an environment where he could learn winemaking, Kimura discovered New Zealand. What attracted him was the speed and breadth of opportunities unique to the New World, where he could learn in a short period of time. Since then, Kimura has fallen in love with the local wines. "I like New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I think it's a fruity wine with dozens of aromas that spread in the glass. I feel that its approachability reflects the national character."

It offers rich fruity aromas of passion fruit and lemon. The taste is elegant yet powerful.

Mr. Kimura's wines truly embody that classic style, boasting a rich, fruity flavor. "My starting point is receiving the passion of the producers, so I hope to convey the joy I felt to people in Japan while expressing the characteristics of the land," Mr. Kimura said, his words brimming with passion.
