Teddy Bear Workshop


On Sunday, December 3rd, a teddy bear workshop was held by teddy bear artist and collector Terumi Yoshikawa, marking her first workshop in a long time.

Shimaji : "As I've mentioned before, Mr. Yoshikawa is a teddy bear artist and collector who has won awards in international teddy bear contests. This workshop allowed participants to choose the fabric and parts, decide the placement of the eyes and nose, and create their own original teddy bear. Everyone made their own, some for themselves and some as gifts."


Customer: "The bears in the store seem a little different, too?"

Shimaji : "I asked Professor Yoshikawa to make some more bears for the customers who couldn't make it to the workshop, and he transformed them into a WINTER version. How about welcoming a one-of-a-kind 'best friend' into your room?"

In Europe and America, it's a long-standing tradition to give a teddy bear as a gift when a child is born, as it's said to become their first friend! It's irresistible to be gazed upon by its adorable expression. Next time you visit the salon, please look for the teddy bear gently smiling in the corner of the bar counter.

First best friend


Katsuhiko Shimaji
 Producer of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building . Born in 1941. After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University, he joined Shueisha. He was assigned to "Weekly Playboy" and became its editor-in-chief in 1983, where he created a sensation with the "Life Advice" column featuring Renzo Shibata, Toko Kon, and Ken Kaiko as respondents, growing the magazine into a million-copy publication. He later served as editor-in-chief of "PLAYBOY Japan" and "BART." After serving as representative director of Shueisha International, he retired in 2008. He is currently a writer and essayist.
