"Vanitas" ¥4,266,000 Aluminum, 22cm wide, 8.6cm thick, 30.6cm high, manual winding (35 days)
The "Vanitas" is a collaboration with independent watchmaker Fiona Kruger, a wall clock designed with a skull motif, and is a special timepiece made from approximately 400 parts. The mainspring barrel is placed in the eye area to represent a dilated pupil, and the movement of the balance wheel located in the head is also visible. The mouth is a power reserve indicator; when the mainspring runs out, the mouth opens to look like a yawn, and closes when the mainspring is wound.
