Accessories are the kind of things that become more appealing with every scratch or change in color.

"I don't create prototypes (samples) because I only draw outlines and then work on the balance. I create a basic model, refine it, and add my own touch. I cherish each and every shape as I create it," says Kudo, explaining his design process.

Necklace "P-19" 27,000 yen

"When I first started making things, I wanted to express human emotions through objects, to express the emotions deep within people. At the time, I also thought shadows were beautiful, so that's how the pendant head was born, where light stretches shadows and overlaps human figures. It's a way of expression unique to three-dimensional objects, and in addition to holding hands, there are also designs of kissing."

Necklace "P-02" 37,800 yen

"This pendant head was made by taking a mold of a stone found lying on the roadside, carving it, and polishing it. I approached it with the idea of 'adding charm to things that are usually overlooked.' The contrasting textures of the shiny and rough parts, when opposites come together, make it even more appealing. From here, the color will change, the edges will smooth out, and so on, allowing us to share the passage of time."

Ring "R-51" 34,560 yen

"I've been wearing this ring myself for about two and a half years, and initially, I intentionally gave it a matte, black finish. Silver is a material that tarnishes over time, but with this ring, the tarnish gradually gives it a shine—it's like it's being completed as you wear it. The time spent together is reflected in it."

Necklace "P-33" ¥39,960

"The necklace I'm wearing today, with its rectangular prism-shaped pendant, emphasizes the contrast between its simple outline and the intricate lines within, as well as the contrast between polished and unpolished areas."

What Node by Kudo Shuji aims for going forward

"Going forward, I want to continue creating designs that reflect the changes in my own feelings, without being too bound by themes or anything like that. I think of accessories as 'boxes that can hold time.' Accessories don't change in design from day to day, nor do they change with the seasons, and they don't offer any particular practical use, yet they have been worn since the dawn of humankind. They are something that can share experiences with you throughout your life, so I think they are special."
