My image of suits changed after joining Mitsukoshi Isetan.

Kawabata: I used to think of suits as just work clothes, but after seeing my senior colleagues working at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , I thought that "suits for fashion" were really cool. The other day, a floor manager who loves sports was wearing a suit set developed in collaboration with Adidas , and it was really cool how his hobby and work were mixed together. I realized that you can express your individuality like that even with a suit.
Taniguchi: Indeed, when I look at my senior colleagues working at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , I get the impression that they enjoy their everyday lives by dressing stylishly. They seem to be positively engaged in their work through their clothing choices.

I feel that wearing Sato's clothes is one way for her to feel motivated and uplifted.

When I look at my classmates who have become salespeople at Kawabata 's company, their suits are "the ultimate work clothes," worn out like gym clothes, but you can see the signs of hard work in a good way.

Taniguchi in a gym uniform, huh? (laughs) But many of my friends who joined regular companies are still wearing suits, as an extension of their job-hunting days, and are quite conservative. I suppose they're also concerned about what their superiors think.

When I searched for "Isetan Men's" on Sato's Twitter, I saw comments like, "The people at Isetan Men's are so stylish," which made me realize their influence. Customers expect them to be stylish, and they also need to express themselves, like the Sapeurs (a group in the Republic of Congo that is considered the most extravagant and stylish in the world) .

Taniguchi: When I'm at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , I find something I want every day (laughs), and I love it so much that I even come to Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building on my days off. It's also fun deciding what to wear before going to work.

[Here's a one-point piece of advice from senior colleague Otsubo]
It's true that few men in their 20s are keen to wear suits. When I talk to job seekers and new employees, it seems that many tend to give up on expressing their individuality through suits from the start. However, if you take your time to look at the many suits available at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , try them on, and find one that makes you think, "I'm going to wear this for my job search!" or "I'm going to start my career in this!", I'm sure you'll come to love suits.
Also, even with basic attire, you can personalize your look by getting creative with things like how you tie your tie, so I hope you'll approach dressing with a positive attitude.
