"Natural talent" as a clothing store owner

"Doppia" means "two A's," representing the initials of Allen and Alberto. Allen still lives in Brescia and has an office in Milan. Alberto Carreras lives in Barcelona, Spain. Their offices are connected via Skype.


Alberto : "Allen manages production, and I oversee everything else. We're geographically separated, but it's not inconvenient for working together. The production department has complete confidence in him, and most administrative tasks can be handled via Skype and email. And when I absolutely have to go to Milan, it's only a 1 hour and 15 minute flight from Barcelona, which is about the same amount of time Allen spends commuting by car from Brescia to the Milan office."

Upon inquiry, it turns out Alberto is a marketing and communications professional. He previously worked as a merchandiser for a Swiss luxury jewelry brand. With his deep understanding of global brand strategy and extensive network, Alberto and Allen, who creates the finest clothing, joined forces to launch "Doppia" in the spring of 2016.

Alberto : "The collection's theme is a real story for all generations. We aim to create clothing that can be worn by men and women of all ages, from their 20s to their 70s, for both work and leisure. It's a luxury brand that my father and mother, my wife and I, and even our children can wear."

You may recognize the name "Carreras." His father is José Carreras, one of the Three Tenors. The great Spanish singer and the Italian fashionista have long been close friends, even at the family level. The clothing that best reflects their family image is none other than "Doppia." Spain and Italy, different countries, but both are celebrity families who appreciate quality.


Alberto : "When my father had lectures in Milan, we would all go out to eat together. Both my father and I liked the selections at Adriano & Sons, and we were also fans of Allen's clothing. When Allen approached me about starting a new brand, even though I had never been involved in the fashion business before, I decided to quit my job and team up with him."

I rudely asked Alberto, who had such a great father, why he didn't pursue a career as a musician.

"I received gifted education in music from a young age, but I gave up early on. My father was born with the favor of the god of music, but I wasn't. There are places you can't reach through effort alone. Talent is something you're born with, like him."

Saying this, Alberto glanced at Allen. Allen's two younger brothers are businessmen in London. His sister is a successful architect in Miami.
