V-Zone Style Trend Analysis | The Classic Return is Becoming More Serious. Check Out the Changes in the V-Zone This Autumn/Winter with Keywords!

It's time to change the "shirt & tie" combination that makes up the V-zone of a jacket, including the collar style, body color and pattern, and tie color variations, to autumn/winter trends. Takumi Sato, buyer of dress shirts and ties on the 1st floor of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building says, "Those who are sensitive to trends are shifting to more authentic classics, but this time we will introduce the latest V-zone that can be used in business settings while still having a touch of fashion." Be sure to pay attention to the changes in combinations and fresh color pairings.

The V-zone for Fall/Winter 2017: Know this and you'll have nothing to fear!

One shirt collar style to pay attention to is the "semi-wide" collar, which allows ties to fit neatly. "We're shifting from the cutaway collar, which has dominated Cool Biz, to the more elegant semi-wide collar for autumn and winter. Furthermore, with the return to classic styles, tab collars, round collars, and cleric collars will also be widely available in stores, so please give them a try," says buyer Sato.

Regarding ties, the recommendation for this season is "big patterns" and stripes. From large paisley and square patterns to stripes ranging from traditional club stripes to large block stripes, everything looks fresh. For tie colors, we're focusing on classic navy and brown to burgundy gradations, and khaki as an accent color.

Sato says that the buyer's top pick for ties is "Only MI's ROBERT FRASER tie, which uses original fabrics created by drawing on the archives of Fermo Fossati, a long-established fabric manufacturer in Como, Italy. With trendy colors and patterns, plus Italian sewing, the selection at 14,040 yen offers great value for money and is highly recommended."

This four-part series will provide you with the latest V-zone styling tips, a must-read for businessmen who always choose their own shirts and ties, as well as wives and partners who have decided that ties are the perfect gift!
