Peter Speake-Marin, an independent watchmaker from the UK, released a limited edition model this year called the "London Chronograph," inspired by London, a city that has greatly influenced his watchmaking.
At Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 8th floor = Isetan Men's Residence, we will be showcasing his work from November 2nd (Wednesday) to commemorate the release of a limited edition model.

Having honed his watch repair skills in antique shops in the UK since the 1980s, Speake-Marin has been involved in the restoration and repair of historical masterpieces such as Arnold, Breguet, and Patek Philippe.
He then moved to Switzerland and, while working at a workshop specializing in complex timepieces, he prepared to create his own original watches. Since 2002, he has been releasing watches bearing his own name.
"Serpent Calendar" ¥1,512,000 / Stainless steel case: 38mm diameter / Approx. 60-hour power reserve / Automatic winding
The "Serpent Calendar," one of Speake-Marin's signature models, features a unique hand shape that he designed, inspired by the hands of pocket watches made in the 19th century.
While the spade hands and Roman numerals on the dial give it a classic feel, the inclusion of a colored dial adds a touch of playfulness to the design.
"London Chronograph" ¥2,484,000 / Titanium case: 42mm diameter / Approx. 40-hour power reserve / Manual winding / Limited edition of 30 pieces worldwide
*This product is scheduled to arrive in mid-November 2016 or later. We are accepting reservations, so please ask a staff member for details.
The "London Chronograph," which uses the old Valjoux 92 movement, was initially ordered in a single batch of three by a British department store. Due to the overwhelming response after its announcement, the production quantity was increased to 30 pieces for a global release, and a few of these will be available in Japan.
The design is inspired by the Piccadilly arcade where he spent his apprenticeship in England, and features a gear motif, reminiscent of a tool, in the center, which has become his trademark.
*All prices include tax.
