"Bishu Fabric" - Embracing the history and tradition of Japanese wool weaving.

—For the discerning Japanese gentleman who appreciates quality.

Bishu, considered one of the world's three major textile producing regions, is often mentioned alongside the world-famous Biella in Italy and Huddersfield in England.
The world's leading textile production areas are closely linked to abundant water resources, and the textile industry in Bishu benefits from the rich waters of the Kiso River, which flows from Nagano Prefecture through Mie Prefecture and into Ise Bay. However, the reason why Bishu is called "one of the world's leading" is also due to its established division of labor system. By completing everything from yarn production to weaving, and even processing such as dyeing and napping, within Bishu, it is possible to produce a wide variety of textiles in a short cycle and at low cost.

Isetan began producing a collection using Bishu textiles last year. To showcase Japan's superb craftsmanship both domestically and internationally, they are currently collaborating with 20 factories. Light and supple, Bishu wool embodies a uniquely Japanese delicacy.

NEXT≫One of the highlights of this collection is the original fabric created in collaboration with Pino Lerario of TAGLIATORE .
