For someone like me who travels a lot, sleeping on an airplane is a precious time for rest. Before I fall asleep, I have an essential ritual. It starts with making a slightly selfish request to the cabin attendant.

I order a shot of Scotch whisky and some dark chocolate. It would be perfect if the chocolate were in a very thin bar. I can't sleep if there's even a little light, so I put on an eye mask and slowly combine the whisky and chocolate on my tongue in complete darkness. Then, feeling the exquisite vibrations on my wings, I drift off to sleep before I know it.

Right now, I'm in discussions with my friend Hideyuki Kasuga of the carbon material brand hide k 1896 and Joji Kanaya, owner of JOHN KANAYA, to create a new concept bar for a limited time at the Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel.
I'm thinking that if I could ever create a jet-black bar counter made of carbon fiber, it might become a place I'd always stop by before going to sleep. Of course, I'd need some scotch and ultra-thin chocolate. I'll definitely let you know when that bar is finished. - CHALIE VICE -
