What does CHALIE, who is always ahead of the fashion curve, consider to be a stylish pattern...?
During this season, CHALIE takes a break from work and enjoys sports that can only be enjoyed at this time of year. This is apparently one of the ways CHALIE enriches her life♪ CHALIE tends to let loose every year, but what will happen this year!?
(Incidentally, last year, after dancing all night with delicious drinks in hand, he missed his flight and ended up missing the party he was hosting...)
Now, at THE GALLERY by CHALIE VICE, we are introducing comment?/common, a new Japanese fashion item created by Yuichi Hirose, a longtime friend of CHALIE. Click here for more details.
Yuichi Hirose is the fourth-generation owner of the Hirose Dyeing Factory, a renowned Edo Komon dyeing workshop. While inheriting traditional dyeing techniques, he creates fashionable Japanese items unlike anything seen before, and he is one of CHALIE's respected friends. He is also a former Olympic windsurfing training candidate, and apparently, he and CHALIE met when they accidentally picked up the wrong surfboard on the beach…
At first glance, it appears to be a simple pattern, but upon closer inspection, you can see that Edo Komon is made up of intricate dots. This unique design, which represents Japanese culture while also suiting modern styles, is one of the reasons why CHALIE, a Japanophile, fell in love with it.
Some items feature pop colors and patterns that defy the traditional image of Edo Komon (a type of kimono fabric). CHALIE always keeps at least one tie in her suitcase, as it can be worn casually. She wears this tie to parties with her fashion-conscious friends to stand out from the crowd.
This stole, specially made for CHALIE VICE with a slight modification to a design from about 100 years ago, fulfills a long-standing promise between Mr. Hirose and CHALIE. Adding an accent to summer styles that tend to be simpler as temperatures rise, this stole, with its light and thin silk texture, won't interfere with a cool style.
There are still many more of CHALIE's favorite items that we haven't been able to introduce yet, but please come to the store and see for yourself Hirose-san's attention to detail, which combines the intricate craftsmanship of artisans with modern fashion!
