I'm thrilled once again to hear that my favorite Leica is releasing a signature model, the "LEICA T “CHALIE VICE”." Just like gazing into a trench in the crystal-clear waters of the South Pacific, I was left breathless by the deep indigo color adorning the sophisticated, machined aluminum body of the LEICA T.

I decided to take this new camera, which somewhat resembles a miraculous crystal of lapis lazuli, on my trip right away. When packing things for a trip, a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) is the best option. It's just a simple square piece of cloth, yet its patterns are endlessly diverse, and the way you wrap things with it offers countless ways to enjoy it. If I were to have a furoshiki made to carry my Leica T, what kind would be best?

I consulted with my friend YUHAKU about the possibility of creating a "leather furoshiki (wrapping cloth)." I wanted to use overkip leather, which gains character with use, thinned down to the absolute minimum, as the fabric. YUHAKU more than fulfilled my wish. On the other side, he sewed on a fabric dyed with traditional Edo komon patterns. We have prepared a "LEICA T “CHALIE VICE” Special Selection" that combines an indigo LEICA T with this leather furoshiki, so if you want to enjoy life to the fullest, why not give it a try? I'm sure you'll be satisfied. There are only 20 sets available, so you might want to hurry.

Both the leather and fabric sides are extremely soft, so sewing them without distortion required very careful work. The skill and sense of the Japanese artisans are truly amazing. The finishing touches on the edges are particularly exquisite. Holding it in my hands, I gazed at it intently, and enjoyed its feel, completely losing track of time.

As I mentioned earlier, there are countless ways to wrap things with a furoshiki (wrapping cloth). Just thinking about different wrapping methods is fun, so if you happen to meet me somewhere on your travels, please teach me your own wrapping style. In return, I'd love to show you my own special wrapping technique. Let's enjoy the photos I've taken up to that point together—Chalie Vice
