This is a 10-part report from a WWD Japan reporter, bringing you the latest information from Pitti Immagine Uomo. In the remaining two parts, we will introduce noteworthy brands that the reporter discovered at the venue.


The ninth brand featured is the Japanese brand SPINGLE MOVE. Founded in 2002 in Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture, a town known for its sewing and processing industry, SPINGLE MOVE drew its design inspiration from gym shoes. The unique design, with its curved sole wrapping around the upper, is created using the "vulcanized" method, which involves bonding the rubber sole to the shoe body and then applying heat and pressure. The brand is also characterized by its use of materials not commonly found in sneakers, such as kangaroo, crocodile, and lizard. It has also garnered attention for collaborations with brands like COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS and PORTER CLASSIC .



The Spingle Move W upper line, which launched in the Fall/Winter 2015-16 season and had previously been mainly sold overseas, is now seeing a full-scale launch in Japan. This season, the line uses checked fabrics from wool manufacturers in Bishu (a production area surrounding Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture) and the products are finished in a domestic factory in Hiroshima Prefecture. All-nubuck lace-up sneakers will also be available.
