The world of water and sea sculptures
The rainy weather continues; how are you all doing?
Charlie Weiss's way of spending rainy days is to enjoy a beautiful ocean-colored cocktail while looking at refreshing art.
Apparently, this leads them to reminisce about resorts they've visited before and begin planning their next trip.
Here is the "cool and refreshing art" that soothes Charlie's heart.
This artwork was created by Charlie's friend, sculptor Kazuhiko Yakushiji.
His works, often themed around marine mammals and water, utilize unique techniques to create pieces that are transparent and possess a divine quality.
Furthermore, they were involved in a project to develop the world's first artificial tail fin for "Fuji," a fish living at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium that had lost its tail fin. Fuji recovered to the point where it could jump again, and the project was a success!
Have you ever felt a sense of divinity or something sacred when you're in the midst of nature?
It's a translucent, hazy existence that seems visible yet invisible.
It might be the presence of a spirit.
I have dived into the sea myself, continuing my dialogue with the water, in search of the presence of spirits that still linger in the modern age.
I create works using transparent glass and acrylic, hoping to capture the translucent presence of spirits I encounter in the water and the divine moments that come with them.
...and this is what Mr. Yakushiji said about creating sculptures of water and the sea.
Therefore, we will be holding an event where you can hear about the creative process of Charlie's friend, Kazuhiko Yakushiji, and the dolphin artificial tail fin project!
The world as seen by sculptor Kazuhiko Yakushiji: Sculptures of water and the sea.
Kazuhiko Yakushiji is a sculptor who creates works using acrylic and glass with his own unique techniques.
The sculptures, themed around marine mammals such as dolphins and water, express the worldview that Mr. Yakushiji experienced through his interactions with animals, and also reveal the divine nature of the great outdoors.
On the day of the event, Mr. Yakushiji will be visiting the store, and you can enjoy listening to stories about the sculptures that were born from his interactions with dolphins, while looking at photographs and actual dolphin tail fins.
