The quality of tailoring, the degree of freedom, and the staff vary greatly. Here are 6 MTM brands to choose from!
1. LID TAILOR: Its distinguishing feature is "soft tailoring."
Inaba : First up is Lid Tailor. It's characterized by the "soft tailoring" advocated by Nemoto, which is based on British tailoring but with a Japanese interpretation. The shoulder area is structured, but the relatively thin interlining is also a distinctive feature.
Kucchi : There are two types of patterns. The "Standard" has a modern balance, while the "Classic" has a softer shoulder construction, and the collar angle, width, and stitching are classic details that will appeal to connoisseurs.
Inaba : I've deliberately adjusted my wide-legged pants, with a hem width of 24cm and knee width of 27cm, to look straight. There's a wide range of choices for the change pocket, belt loops, pocket specifications, waist belt loops, and pocket angles. The fabric is "Beausolieil" herringbone from Vitale Barberis Canonico. It's a fine yarn with a prominent white area, achieving both durability and softness.
Kucchi : Inaba-san's jacket has outer pockets, so you can make it more casual by pairing it with a knit tie. I'm wearing a classic style today. It has a change pocket and two pleats, so it offers a lot of flexibility in terms of width and specifications.
2. LA SCALA
A tailor is always present in the glass-walled workshop.
Inaba : This brand is created by tailor Yamaguchi, who is permanently stationed in a glass-enclosed workshop next to the MTM corner.
Kucchi : It's refreshing to be able to see them actually sewing, pressing, and drawing patterns inside that glass-enclosed space.

Inaba : There are two models: one that's "typically Neapolitan" and a new, "urban" model. I've made some detailed adjustments, such as extending the length, adding a change pocket, and slimming down the pants to a straight fit. I've also made some pretty extreme adjustments, like adjusting the shoulder padding and split sleeves (laughs).
Kucchi : It's possible to adjust the fit, such as "removing excess fabric" from the back, which is difficult with ready-made clothing. You can also freely customize details like side buckles and double stitching.
Sharing images or the kind of outfit you'd like to wear will help us provide more accurate suggestions.
3. HENRY POOLE
Enjoy authentic style made in Japan
Inaba : Next up is Henry Poole. It's a prestigious Savile Row brand, and because they use patterns supervised by cutters in the UK and sew them in Japan, you can enjoy the UK style even with Japanese-made garments.
Kucchi : The "Chelsea" I'm introducing is Henry Poole's most popular model. It's the waist...right? It's often ordered by people who love British style or want a neat, polished look.
4. Cifonelli
Bespoke orders supervised by the company's headquarters are also available in Japan.
Inaba : Next up Cifonelli a representative brand from Paris, France.
The "LC" we're introducing has a masculine and modern feel, thanks to its shoulder design, narrow lapels, and high waistline.
Kucchi : This model, which is the best-selling item at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building is characterized by its narrow lapels. The Parisian design, such as the fishmouth collar notch, is also appealing.
Inaba : Bespoke tailoring supervised by the company's headquarters is also available in Japan. You can choose from three options: MTM (Made to Order), domestic bespoke, and bespoke tailoring in France. French items are currently attracting attention, and you can also enjoy purchasing jackets individually.
5. Sartoria Ypsilon's unique "balancing toy theory"
Kucchi : Lastly, we have Sartoria Ypsilon, a brand by Mr. Funabashi from Japan. Founded in Milan in 1994, he is a legend who has been involved with Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building for many years since returning to Japan. His distinctive feature is his balanced design that makes the left and right sides appear uniform, based on his unique "Yajirobe theory." The house model "Milano" is made of a soft, elegant fabric, and the shoulder area is also soft and evenly balanced.
Inaba : Another new model, "Roma," is even lighter thanks to its manica camicia (shoe-like construction). Funabashi has a strong spirit of inquiry, and it seems he's recently started using 3D measurement. He continues to update his designs with measurements that don't even require a measuring tape; he's truly an evolving legend.
6. ISETAN MEN'S House Style: If you're unsure, this is the place to go.
Inaba : We have two models: the Italian-style "NAPOLI CLASSICO" and the British-style "ENGLISH DRAPE". If you're unsure which to choose, we recommend selecting from these two easy-to-understand models. Entry price starts at ¥99,000 (tax included). There is an additional charge of ¥30,000 or ¥60,000 depending on the pattern. Tailor-made suits start at ¥132,000 (tax included).
Kucchi : People often think ordering is difficult, but it's also a lot of fun, so please feel free to consult with our staff.
