Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , is currently hosting "ISETAN Leather Fair 2025," a gathering of leather enthusiasts. For this edition of "#IsetanMensFavoriteItems," we introduce items that fully showcase the appeal of "leather," selected by Narihiro Fukushima, buyer in charge of men's bags & luggage and leather goods, and one of the organizers of the event.

I'm drawn to "simple and good things" because I can feel the craftsmanship and background.

When it comes to everyday items, I'm naturally drawn to things that I feel are "simple and good." Even if they're not flashy, I feel reassured when I can sense the quality of the craftsmanship and its background. I can use them comfortably not only for everyday purposes but also in slightly more formal settings. That's the kind of thing I'm always drawn to.

A market bag made of aged horsehide leather that you'll want to use every day.

shiroi is a brand based at Shinki Hikaku, a tannery in Himeji City, and has been available at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building B1F bag section since July 2025. The market bag, perfect for everyday use, is appealing for its unique texture and feel, characteristic of horsehide leather. It can be used as a handbag, folded in half as a clutch, or carried over the shoulder with the included shoulder strap, making it enjoyable in various styles, including sauna visits. I also appreciate their philosophy of using leather with scratches and stains and elevating them into a natural design. I'm looking forward to seeing how the horsehide leather ages even more.

A card case that brings the presence of exotic leather closer to you.

Fujitoyo, this brand, is also a brand originating from a tannery. Located in Sumida Ward, they specialize in crocodile leather. This card holder is a multi-use item that can be used as both a business card holder and an employee ID holder. I usually use it as a business card holder, and I can naturally feel the high quality of the material, so I can carry it with confidence in any situation. I'm also surprised by the affordable price, which is made possible by using all the leftover leather from when they make larger items.
