■ "Isetan Men's" - a fusion of retail and production that fulfills your desires!

Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, 5th Floor, Men's Tailored Clothing 1, Buyer: Kei Izumi
Izumi is a buyer at the Men's Tailored section on the 5th floor Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , handling suits, shirts, and ties.
ISETAN MEN'S the original brand of ISETAN MEN'S that has been a particular focus for the past few seasons, has been further enhanced this season, and he explains the points of particular attention to detail as follows:

"We can hear directly from many customers at the sales floor. And we're not just selling products; we're also involved in the production of items. We believe our greatest strength is that we can handle both sales and planning. Our private brand ISETAN MEN'S , is based on the concept of 'solving customers' problems,' and this season we were able to create items that more strongly incorporate that customer-centric essence."

*Sales are scheduled to begin on February 1st (Saturday).

Izumi has put particular emphasis on "casual shirts" that are perfect for Cool Biz and casual business settings. This particular shirt, made with linen, maintains the quality of linen while offering a comfortable feel, and is priced far more affordably than those from imported brands. The length is easy to wear casually with the hem untucked, and the one-piece collar makes it easy to wear without a tie, even in the Japanese summer. The collar's interlining is also meticulously crafted, resulting in a beautifully elegant neckline.

This scarf was designed to be the most versatile scarf, suitable for three seasons other than summer. The fabric was carefully selected with three key features in mind: thinness, warmth, and a pleasant feel against the skin. By using an Italian fabric that is a blend of rayon and wool, both durability and an elegant touch are achieved.

■ Exclusive collaborations with import brands that incorporate real needs

Izumi says that in addition to their private label brands, they are also putting a lot of effort into creating custom-made products with other brands this season.

"Starting in earnest with the Spring/Summer 2025 season, we'll be launching collaborative items with other brands. By incorporating the essence of ISETAN MEN'S and planning special order products, we've succeeded in evolving our imported brand into items that reflect the real needs of Japanese customers. Overseas brands look cool, but sometimes the actual comfort just isn't quite satisfying... Please be sure to check out our special order products, which reflect the voices of such customers."

GUY ROVER
Polo shirt (100% cotton)
22,000 yen
□ Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 5th Floor: Shirts, Ties, and Seasonal Accessories
*Sales are scheduled to begin on February 1st (Saturday).

GUY ROVER polo shirts are highly popular every year. However, some customers have commented that the shoulder width is a little narrow for some people, causing the sleeves to ride up while wearing the shirt. To address this issue, the shoulder width has been widened compared to the regular model, and the sleeve length has been rebalanced. This shirt is a perfect example of how overseas brands can sometimes be mismatched with the Japanese physique.

Brewer necktie (100% silk)
17,600 yen

*Sales are scheduled to begin on February 1st (Saturday).

If you want to maintain a conservative style but also want to make a slightly different impression, then we highly recommend this tie from BREUER. It features a wide variety of subtly sized patterns and intricate designs that exude a sophisticated yet understated charm. Furthermore, the interlining has been specially ordered to be just the right softness and thinness, significantly improving ease of tying. It's easy to create a perfect knot dimple, resulting in a tie you'll find yourself reaching for again and again.

Buyer Tomohiro Inaba

■Re-editing the unique new classic mixed style of Tokyo

Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, 5th Floor, Tailored Clothing 2, Buyer: Tomohiro Inaba
Inaba, the buyer in charge of tailored clothing on the 5th floor, the main floor of Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , focuses on classic styles unique to Tokyo, which continues to evolve at the forefront of trends. While centering on items based on classic craftsmanship, he presents a new style that freely mixes multinational brands.

"Unlike the past, when Italian brands were worn exclusively in an Italian style, the current trend is towards a style where people freely mix and match items according to their own sensibilities and personal taste. However, while there is freedom, the selection of items used is still based on classic and high-quality craftsmanship. I think that a style that incorporates a relaxed feel through silhouettes and layering, and mixes good items from across borders in a way that is uniquely Tokyo and contemporary."

The exhibition hall will feature mannequins showcasing Inaba's proposed new-classic mixed style, which embodies the essence of contemporary Tokyo. Inaba will then introduce his recommended clothing items that perfectly complement this mixed style.

*Scheduled to go on sale around mid-March.

" SETCHU is a new brand that we'll be carrying starting this spring/summer season. It's positioned as a designer brand, and normally, it's not the kind of item we'd typically carry in the tailored clothing area on the 5th floor that I'm in charge of. But actually, the designer trained at Huntsman on Savile Row in England, and the patterns and tailoring incorporate quite authentic tailored clothing techniques."

The unique design, which deliberately leaves folds like origami, and the unisex sizing give it a modern feel. Inaba says that freely incorporating items that follow classic tailored construction while adding a contemporary sensibility is key to expressing a modern mixed style.

Kinloch Anderson, a long-established British brand, is actually said to be the originator of tartan check. This piece, which uses a quintessentially British tartan check, was specially commissioned by modernizing a traditional horse riding blouson to create an A-line silhouette. It's perfect for styling a classic British traditional item with a modern sensibility.

This jacket, which has seen a resurgence in popularity this year, is a traditional Spanish jacket called the "Teva" jacket.
"How to wear a deep, classic jacket like this in a modern, personal way—that's definitely the theme of this season. This jacket is from Justo Gimeno, a long-established Spanish factory brand, and you can really feel the authenticity of the item. It has a collar so it can be worn in a neat and tidy way, but the lapel design is a little different from that of a typical jacket, so it also matches well with a more casual style. It's easier to wear than it looks, so it's a very useful piece."

Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building , B1F, Men's Shoes, Buyer: Yosuke Kagami

■A wide selection of "dress casual sneakers" that capture the evolving trends in business attire.

Finally, we introduce Kagami, a men's shoe buyer who leverages his vast knowledge to create unique selections. How has his focus on comfort shoes and sneakers, which he has been concentrating on since last year, changed this season? Kagami, who also has experience buying tailored clothing, has captured the styles of his customers and the needs of the market, making his item lineup a must-see.

75,900 yen (estimated price)
□Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, B1 Floor, Men's Shoes
*Scheduled to go on sale around late February.

"Last year, we mainly handled shoes from specialized manufacturers that excel in casual shoes and sneakers. However, what we heard most from our customers was that they wanted shoes that were dressy enough for work. In that case, brands that are good at dressy styles are more reliable and in demand. In that sense, the most practical and easy-to-wear option is this slip-on from CARMINA . It has a white rubber sole, is made of suede, and comes in a soft ivory color. It gives a light impression and goes perfectly with dressy styles such as a functional suit set paired with a T-shirt."

TLB Mallorca
Double monk strap slip-on shoes (cowhide)
53,900 yen (estimated price)
□Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, B1 Floor, Men's Shoes
*Scheduled to go on sale around late February.

"On the other hand, shoes like TLB Mallorca double monk strap, which look dressy at first glance and are easy to wear to work, are aimed at people who wear more formal, classic, and well-tailored clothing. They are perfect for people who wear shirts and knit ties, or neat knits or polo shirts instead of T-shirts, when they want to relax a little. You could say they are for a relaxed yet dressy style."

CAMERLENGO

■High-end casual sneakers that will satisfy even discerning shoe lovers.

Furthermore, according to Kagami, high-end, authentic shoe brands that satisfy long-time shoe enthusiasts are also focusing on producing casual sneakers.

"These JM WESTON are made in the same factory in Limoges, France, as their leather shoes. While JM WESTON is well-known for its sneakers in France, it's not yet widely known in Japan. For this model, we requested the brand to change the material from canvas to suede so that it would be more accessible to those who appreciate high-quality shoes. It has a very elegant look, and I personally really like it. The laces are also elastic, making them very easy to put on and take off."

Church's penny loafers (cowhide)

□Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building, B1 Floor, Men's Shoes

"Church's has been a pioneer in developing comfortable casual shoes among high-quality footwear brands. As a brand under the umbrella of a luxury fashion house group, it's naturally more sensitive to changes in customers' lifestyles compared to factory brands. The softness of the soles, which can be bent almost indistinguishably, is truly impressive."

*Scheduled to go on sale around early April.

And as a new topic, a new generation of performance shoes has also been introduced, combining extremely high levels of waterproofing and breathability.

"Moisture 360, produced by a Japanese company, is a very rare brand that has obtained evidence of its waterproof and breathable properties. Many brands claim to have waterproof and breathable functions, but it is rare for them to be able to obtain evidence from a third-party organization, as most of them have their own internal standards. This brand not only has water repellency but also a unique structure that allows moisture to escape, so it could be said to be a truly functional shoe. It also has excellent cushioning and a distinctive look that would go well with designer brands. Please try to find the perfect pair to suit your changing lifestyle."
