I've always associated leather outerwear with a rugged, masculine image, and I've always thought of it as a heavy, stiff item, so I've never really been able to add it to my wardrobe. However, I've always felt that it would be nice to have one in my wardrobe as an option for spring outerwear.

Lately, I've personally felt a growing desire to incorporate elements of "elegance" and "classic" into my styling, while maintaining a relaxed, casual base. This shirt jacket felt just right for my mood, so I selected it. I've encountered an item that completely overturns my long-held preconceptions about "leather"—that it's "rugged and masculine/heavy and stiff." (Matsuoka)



If you're going to incorporate sophisticated gray leather into your everyday styling, I decided to go with a gray monochrome look, focusing on "elegance that suits my own style without being overly pretentious." I paired the outerwear with LEMAIRE slacks in the same gray tones for a gray-toned color scheme. When styling with all gray, my personal preference is to add a touch of black to prevent the overall look from becoming too bland, and to tighten up the overall impression.
