Pierre Jeanneret, along with Le Corbusier, considered a master of modernist architecture, played a crucial role in the urban planning of Chandigarh, Punjab, India, between 1951 and 1965.
Although these two men contributed to the development of modern architecture in India, their deaths in 1965 and 1967, respectively, meant that their will and achievements gradually faded and were forgotten. Maintenance of Chandigarh became inadequate, and old furniture was left unattended and discarded.
In the early 2000s, Europeans, surprised by this fact, conducted on-site investigations and furniture restoration, leading to a renewed appreciation of its value.
One of Jeanneret's most representative works, this lounge chair allows you to sit back and relax comfortably.
This is another iconic piece that many people associate with Jeanneret. Its silhouette from the side is beautiful, making it a striking piece that stands out in any space.
The furniture was produced over a period of more than 14 years under the supervision of Pierre Jeanneret. The shapes varied depending on the intended use, and at least 300 known styles have been identified. A wide variety of items were produced, including chairs, tables, desks, and bookshelves. Many pieces feature distinctive compass-like legs, which have now become iconic.
This popular piece can be used as a side table, for storing books, blankets, and other items, and you can also place things on the top surface.
*This product is scheduled to be released on September 8th (Thursday) due to a delay in delivery.
This chair, originally used in schools, features a table and a built-in storage area at the base. Its self-contained design makes it a great choice for those looking to purchase just one chair.
While Jeanneret is strongly associated with rattan upholstery, this is a rare cushioned type. Compared to other Jeanneret office chairs, the seat is slightly lower, making it a good choice for women as well.
This event will feature a wide variety of Pierre Jeanneret's works on display and for sale. Each piece is handcrafted, resulting in unique expressions and seating comfort, allowing you to enjoy the individuality that only vintage pieces can offer.
Please take this opportunity to see the works of Pierre Jeanneret, whose art continues to be acclaimed around the world.
