Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 5th floor, Men's Tailored Clothing will begin selling anniversary coats from Aquascutum , which is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year, starting September 22nd (Wednesday).

Founded by John Emery as a small tailor, Aquascutum has evolved alongside the changing times, from developing fabrics during the Industrial Revolution to creating coats for military service to protect against the elements, and producing fashion items for royalty and celebrities, as well as costumes for famous Aquascutum on screen.

To commemorate its 170th anniversary this year, the brand will release its iconic coat as an anniversary item.

Launched in 1976 to commemorate the brand's 125th anniversary, the Club Check pattern represents the navy of a prestigious British club blazer, the beige of a trench coat, and the brown of vicuña. For this 170th anniversary, the brand has created a classic single-breasted coat, "FILEY," incorporating the iconic Club Check pattern. With a length 10 centimeters longer than the standard model, it exudes a more classic feel.

This is a reproduction of the "Rockerbee Coat," a trench coat jointly developed by Aquascutum and the British Army around 1910. It features a single-piece raglan sleeve and a design that fastens only with a buckle belt. The outer fabric is woven on shuttle looms in Bishu, giving it a classic vintage finish, while the lining uses a 170th-anniversary tan check pattern. The relaxed silhouette creates a modern look.
