Masanori Yamagami, known as one of the leading bespoke shirt craftsmen in Japan, has become independent this year and launched his own brand, YAMAGAMI Masanori. He will now be holding his first bespoke shirt order event at Isetan Shinjuku. For two days, on September 25th (Sat) and 26th (Sun), at Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 1st floor, Bespoke Shirts, Mr. Yamagami will propose a special shirt tailored to each individual.

Masanori Yamagami has worked for many years as a bespoke shirtmaker at a certain select shop, tailoring shirts for numerous customers. From the perspective that "shirts should be worn with suits," he not only taught himself shirtmaking but also suit making and construction, establishing his own original tailoring style through his self-developed pattern-making methods and sewing techniques.
The shirts he tailors are designed to be worn under a suit, and their beautiful, light, and comfortable feel, often described as "like a celestial robe," has captivated many repeat customers.

At this bespoke event, Mr. Yamagami will not only take orders for bespoke shirts but also offer advice on coordinating them with ties. During the fitting, he will take measurements at over 20 points, including the neck and shoulder width, to ensure the shirt looks neat and beautiful even under a jacket. He will tailor the shirt to each individual, taking into account not only their bone structure and build but also their posture habits, resulting in a garment that fits so well you'll forget you're wearing it.

Another detail you should definitely pay attention to is how the buttons are sewn on. Instead of the usual cross stitch, a technique called "bird's foot" is used to make them easier to fasten at an angle. The "root wrapping," which creates a space between the button and the fabric, is also adjusted to the millimeter depending on the button's position, showcasing Mr. Yamagami's meticulous attention to detail.

For this order event, Mr. Yamagami will handle customer service, take measurements, and create patterns. Cutting and sewing will be done by craftsmen at one of Japan's leading factories, endorsed by Mr. Yamagami himself.
