CITIZEN, a Japanese watch manufacturer with world-class technological capabilities, boasts satellite radio-controlled timekeeping and Eco-Drive light-powered technology. The "Citizen Series Eight," which debuted in 2008, is being relaunched after eight years, retaining its original design theme of "aesthetics of subtraction" while incorporating the practicality of modern society.

To coincide with the relaunch of the new "CITIZEN Series 8," Isetan Shinjuku Main Building 5th Floor Watches will be holding the "Series 8 New Arrival Fair" from August 11th (Wed) to September 7th (Tue).

The "Citizen Series 8" is set to move again after a long time.

The new "Citizen Series Eight" features a total of eight models across three different types. Inheriting the previous design concept of "the aesthetic of subtraction," each model boasts a linear and simple line construction. Furthermore, the coarse hairline finish gives them a sharper and sportier appearance.

Furthermore, not only the design but also the movement has evolved to a more modern specification. With the increasing prevalence of smartphones and mobile computers, our surroundings are filled with magnetism. To prevent the accuracy of the watch from being affected by this surrounding magnetism, this model adopts a movement with Type 2 magnetic resistance, newly developed in 2021. In today's society, where it is difficult to completely distance oneself from magnetism, high magnetic resistance is a very attractive feature when choosing a watch.

The three models being released are the "870 Mechanical," "830 Mechanical," and "831 Mechanical." Among them, the "870 Mechanical" boasts the sportiest design in the series, featuring a two-part bezel and a simple yet highly legible dial. Its clean, solid design strongly embodies the "minimalist" concept of the Citizen Series Eight.
