Isetan Shinjuku Main Building, 5th Floor, Watches/Promotion

From Wednesday, April 21st to Tuesday, May 18th, the limited-edition "True Square Designer's Collection" from RADO 's 2021 new models will be available at the Watch /Promotion section on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

The collaborative models between cutting-edge designers and Rado, a pioneer in high-tech ceramics, attract attention every year for their designs. The two models featured here were unveiled in Dezeen, a highly influential architecture, interior, and design magazine that produces Rado's Design Week.

True Square Designers Teji Chauhan Automatic ¥209,000
Ceramic case: 48.7mm (vertical) x 38mm (horizontal), 5 ATM water resistance, automatic movement

The first model is a collaboration with the emotional design language of award-winning British industrial designer Teji Chauhan. Flowing forms, innovative high-tech ceramics, and bold colors visualize a stunning futuristic vision of pop culture.

Teji Chauhan is an award-winning British industrial designer known for his "emotionally appealing industrial design," which strategically uses form, color, and material to create objects that evoke joy.

The collaboration model incorporates elements of Teji Chauhan's work throughout; for example, the date calendar displays the date using Teji Chauhan's unique font. Based on yellow and gray, the orange and blue accents bring out its individuality, making it a playful timepiece.

True Square Designers Formafantasma Automatic: ¥286,000
Ceramic case: 44.2mm (vertical) x 38mm (horizontal), 5 ATM water resistance, automatic movement

The second model we'd like to introduce is a collaboration with Filmafantasma, an Italian design duo that boasts numerous awards.
FilmaFantasma recognizes its role as a bridge between craft and industry, and between objects and users, and continues to work with an interest in connecting research-based practice with the broader design industry. Their designs, which are mindful of the historical, political, and social forces that have shaped their environment, add nuance to their work.

This model is based on the "True Square," which uses high-tech ceramics as the case material, and expresses a powerful, impactful, and distinctive style with the theme of a "closed wristwatch."

The watch features a matte light gray finish and a compactly positioned dial in the center of the case, resulting in an extremely simple design. This opening is fitted with a small sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Despite its minimalist design, it boasts a power reserve of approximately 80 hours, making its functionality more than satisfactory.

During this period, Rado's extensive lineup will also be on display, so please don't miss this opportunity to see them all.
