2021.03.19 update

Do you care for your leather goods? Or not? This is how much my leather wallet has changed after about 3 years of use.

We often hear that the appeal of leather wallets lies in the aging process (changes over time) that comes with regular care, but many people wonder, "What kind of color and shape does the leather actually change?" and "Can't you really know until you use it?" So, we borrowed leather wallets from people who actually use them and compared them to brand new ones.

Furthermore, to ensure you can use your leather wallet with peace of mind even after purchase, we have prepared a video demonstrating basic leather wallet care that you can easily do at home. Whether you are planning to buy a leather wallet or already own one, please refer to it.

Let's compare the changes in a new leather wallet and one that has been used for about three years, categorized by material.

Cowhide (bridle leather)

Bi-fold wallet ¥37,400 View product

■Type of leather: Cowhide (bridle leather)
■Regular care: If you notice any dirt, simply wipe it with a dry cloth.
■Regarding changes in the leather: I don't do any special maintenance, so I just wipe it with a dry cloth occasionally to remove surface dirt. Lately, I've been a little concerned about the wear and tear on the leather at the folds.
Also, I feel that the leather has become darker in color compared to when I first started using it, and the corners have become rounder, making it more compact.
