From Saturday, February 20th to Sunday, February 28th, Isetan Shinjuku Store, Men's Building 7th floor, Men's Authentic will be hosting the LEVI'S® bespoke jeans event "LOT NO.1".
Levi's® "LOT NO.1" is a bespoke jeans service that embodies the essence of Levi's® craftsmanship. Only certified master tailors (dedicated craftsmen) of the brand are permitted to create these jeans, and this service is limited to only five stores worldwide. Mio Yamamoto, the first Asian master tailor, consults with customers to determine the materials, details, silhouette, and size, creates a pattern tailored to each customer's requests, and performs every step of the process by hand, from fabric cutting and sewing to fitting and finishing.
[Interview] We spoke with tailor Mio Yamamoto, who "tailors" one-of-a-kind Levi's jeans, about the appeal and dedication behind "LOT No.1".
Furthermore, since its founding in 1890, the company has used lot numbers to identify different types of products. The "Lot Number 1" designation signifies that this is the highest-end service, capable of creating exceptional "number one jeans" and "one-of-a-kind jeans." While the brand has offered customization services based on its products before, "LOT No. 1," which creates a pattern from scratch for each individual, will be a personalization service that helps customers find their ideal jeans.
Here's a look at the details you can actually choose from.
We offer a total of 12 types of denim fabric, including those from Kaihara Denim in Hiroshima and Candiani in Italy. We have fabrics ranging from 10 ounces (light ounce) to 14.5 ounces, and we are particular about every step from the raw cotton to the dyeing process. And all of them are raw denim (rigid) with starch still on. All fabrics are treated to prevent twisting, so shrinkage is less likely to occur. The back of each fabric also lists the shrinkage rate, material, ounce weight, and dyeing method. Among them, we also have black denim and fabrics with linen in the weft.
At the order event, where you can create a meticulously crafted pair of jeans with master tailor Mr. Yamamoto, many customers are those who are extremely particular about denim, as well as athletes and others who have difficulty finding jeans that fit them well. The fact that the pattern for each order is saved also contributes to the high number of repeat customers. The opportunity to "experience" the manufacturing process is also appealing, but why not get a special pair of jeans made just for you here?
